The society, formed in 2012, is the first independent registered group in Hong Kong specializing in performing early music on period instruments.

Through concerts and workshops, the Society aims to promote music and musical instruments before the mid-eighteenth Century to the general public in Hong Kong. Performers of the Ensemble are all professional musicians who are passionate about performing early music performances on period instruments, such as baroque violin, baroque viola, baroque cello, viola da gamba, viola d’amore, violoncello da spalla, harpsichord, etc.

香港早期音樂協會成立於2012年。本協會是專門使用仿古樂器以鑑古演奏法演奏的獨立註冊團體。協會宗旨為推廣十八世紀末以前之音樂，並希望以音樂會及工作坊等活動，提高大眾對早期音樂及早期樂器的認識。樂團成員全為專業樂手，成員都熱衷於研究巴洛克樂器及早期音樂演奏。樂器包括巴洛克小提琴、中提琴、大提琴、古提琴、柔音提琴、肩上大提琴、古鍵琴等等。
